WHAT IS LIBERICA COFFEE BEANS ?




Liberica coffee beans or Coffee Liberica is a species of coffee beans also known as Liberian coffee. It was first discovered in Liberia, West Africa in 1843. It was brought to asia countries by the spanish during the spanish colonials era in 1800s. Liberica coffee trees are mostly grow in asia countries like Malaysia, Indonesia and Philippines. However, only 2% of Liberica coffee beans are traded in coffee trading around the world.

Liberica cherries mostly contain a single seeds, instead of the usual two as compared to both robustas & arabicas. This single seeds berry is called “Peaberry”. Peaberry contains more flavor & nutritional values than the other types of coffee beans.
WHAT IS THE TASTE PROFILE OF LIBERICA COFFEE BEANS ?
Liberica beans has a unique & exceptional taste profile. It has a chocolaty, ripe-toned sweetness with a hint of floral & spice hint. The first taste to emerge at first sip is bitter walnut, followed by dark chocolate with light smoky acidity.The after taste of liberica is long lasting & retains the smooth dark chocolaty taste with sweet hints.
HOW WE HANDPICKED AND SORTED OUR COFFEE BEANS ?
WHAT IS THE ROASTING PROCESS?
We roast our coffee beans in small batches, making sure that the beans are consistent in shape and size so that they roast evenly. First, the beans are placed in the roaster at a temperature above 400°F (204°C). A “POP!” sound indicates the beans are about to reach the ideal roasting and the process speeds up. They are constantly rotated inside the drum to achieve a consistent roast. The beans are checked every few seconds until our roasters see that they are the perfect color, size, surface texture and smokiness depending on the type of roast we’re creating. When the desired result is achieved, the beans immediately travel to a cooling chamber to stop the process. The smell of Liberica roasted beans are well captivated.
